The Statistical Computing Activities

Overview

The purpose of each Statistical Computing Activity (SCA) is to help you better understand the consequences of the theory covered in class. To that end, these will emphasize simulation and statistical calculations.

Statistical Computing Activity

1 [pdf] Distributions in R (Simulation)
2 [pdf] Estimators (and the Mean Squared Error)
3 [pdf] Coverage (Confidence Intervals)
4 [pdf] Skewness Testing (Creating Your Own Test)
5 [pdf] Chi-square Tests (Goodness of Fit)
6 [pdf] Regression (Page Thickness in Science Books)
7 [pdf] ANOVA (Comparing Program Speed)
8 [pdf] Bayesian Analysis (Green-Flavored Skittles)

We will start these in class as an assignment. What is not finished during class needs to be finished on your own time.
