Title
Helping Libya to Help the United States
Summary
Secretary of State for the United States Hilary Clinton recently made a surprise visit to Libya. During her visit she pledged support by the United States to keep the citizens of Libya safe. She also advocated for stronger economic and education relations. These partnerships could be beneficial for both parties.
Analysis
Secretary of State Hilary Clinton advocated for co-operation between Libya and the United States. She spoke in favor of broadening economic ties between the states and advocated for a student exchange program. By strengthening ties Secretary Clinton hopes to establish a greater influence by the United States on the government of Libya. This could lead to Libya developing a more democratic system of government. Having such ties to the state could increase the chances of the United States to have a more positive relation with Libya and could lead to trade relations. A student exchange program could lead to deeper cultural ties between the two states. She also pledged to increase aid to Libya. She first wants to start a partnership with Libya to provide medical assistance to the Libyan citizens. These ties would be beneficial for the Libyans in that they would receive assistance and for the United States in that it would be able to sew a greater influence in the government of Libya.
