Analysis |
Somali Pirates have been a nuisance to all of the maritime industry in the area. Most of the time the pirates are subdued but there are times when the pirates are able to get away and that costs governments money. Piracy costs maritime industries and the governments that run them millions of dollars a year. With special forces responding to the pirates, they are hoping to strike fear so that the pirates do not try and hijack their ships. That is what the UK was doing when they sent special forces to free the ship, they were using fear tactics to try and prevent any future Somali Pirate attacks.
