Summary		On Monday, conflict between the Columbian army and FARC Guerillas broke out. Seven soldiers in the Columbian army and eleven guerillas were killed when fighting broke out.
Analysis		The fighting broke just three weeks before the local elections to choose governors and mayors nationwide. It started when guerillas from the FARC attackted the Columbian army, using explosives in the southwest region. The guerillas have offensive capabilities and are able to carry out high-impact attacks.
