Analysis |
This attack, like most terrorist attacks, stands heavily on an identitist perspective. One group, the Islamic radicals (Al-Shabab), is seeking through violence to gain control of Somalia to further radical Islamic ideals. While the other group, the African Union forces, is a collection of African states working together to bring stability and peace to Somalia. While this event can be seen in a realist perspective, the cause for violence in Somalia sits heavily on identity groups clashing.
