Title |
Gay Blood Donation to be Accepted in the U.K.
| |
Summary |
News came out today that parts of the UK will now allow for gay men, who have not had sex with another man will be allowed to donate blood for the first time in the nations history. This is an issue because of worries over the transference of HIV and AIDS. Today, higher scientific studies have indicated that the blood donation would be safe. These recommendations were made to change the restrictions following a review by the Advisory Committee on the Safety of Blood, Tissues and Organs (SABTO) earlier this year. Over the past decade many lawsuits have come up concerning this prejudice. The UK is not the only nation to break down this barrier in the recent most after the studies have been done.

Analysis |
I believe that this most recent change in blood donation is a positive step. This change helps the whole world that has enacted on these changes by widening the blood pool for people who need a blood transplant. Saving lives should be a task that anybody should be able to take part in if they choose, and I think that this move changes blood donation around the world better as a whole. The more we emphasize cooperation between the gay communities and their governments the better I believe the states will run better with less hostility. Selfless acts for the good should never be denied, and now men from the gay community can contribute one more selfless act for the good.
