Title
UK Prime Minister and French President arrive in Libya as freedom fighters push into one of the last of Gaddafi’s strongholds, Sirte.
Summary
France and Britain have been helping Libya out since they started their revolution. As the Libyans take over the city of Sirte, a Gaddafi stronghold, to show their support Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom and President Nicolas Sarkozy of France travel to Tripoli.
Analysis
With Cameron and Sarkozy’s visit to Libya it brings a new round of much needed moral to the people. They arrive to show a physical example of their support. They have been supplying money for de-mining and police communications equipment as well as military advisers. They also promised to unfreeze Libyan assets. All of Cameron and Sarkozy’s actions during their visit not only show support for the nation but also will allow for an alliance and possibly trade later on, after the NTC has total political control. They are trying to establish better communication with this new regime, which they hope will prove to be advantageous in the future.
