| |

Analysis |
The prime minister’s gesture is in line with the liberal perspective. In order to stay in the good graces of the United States they must appear cooperative. Building better relationship with other states is important on an economic and a military stand point. Relationships may often turn into allies resulting in financial aid as well as military help.
Without an official acceptance or explanation of the agreement with the United States the people of Iraq could have only assumed the worse and that would be that they were taken advantage of. Feelings could have escalated and an uprising would even be possible in the future. The Prime Minister highlighted the qualities within the agreement “no detainees anymore, no detention centers anymore, or American prisons for Iraqis, no searches or raids of buildings or houses, until there is an Iraqi judicial warrant and it is fully coordinated with the Iraqi government.” We can only hope this is also a hand towards peace and joining the global community.
