Analysis |
Amidst the talks in London, the Taliban’s senior spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, spoke on the BBC’s World Have Your Say program. During the interview, Mr. Mujahid told listeners that the Taliban now has control over more than half of Afghanistan. Under Taliban control, Western ideals are rejected in the arts and education. He also criticized the US actions in 2001. He said there was no proof that Osama Bin Laden was responsible for the attacks on 9/11. He claims that the Americans, not the Taliban, brought al-Qaeda to Afghanistan.
