Title
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan-Good Friends or Great Friends?
Summary
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have been negotiating for the past few days on economic, religious, and terrorist issues. Pakistan asked Saudi Arabia to provide it with a deferral of one-third of Pakistan’s oil payments. Pakistan governments believe that the deferral will be of great help to Pakistan’s struggling economy. The two states have also discussed a possible inter-faith discussion and proposals of bringing together Afghan government and Taleban leaders.
Pakistani government officials have declared the negations to have positive outcomes that will be finalized in the near future. Saudi Arabia has pledged to give financial aid to Pakistan.
Analysis
As interactions increase, allies who are least likely to fight each other are produced. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have been allies in the past and have recently made a stronger bond. Saudi Arabia has given the notion that it will give desired financial aid to Pakistan. By allowing Pakistan to defer on a portion of its’ oil payments, Saudi Arabia has decreased the chance of war between the states.
Saudi Arabia will gain a more admirable spot in Pakistan’s heart for its’ understanding and help. Pakistan will feel a strong bond to the Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia will have a piece of its’ economy and savings within the Pakistan government. Therefore, the states will have a common interest in the Pakistan government to be sturdy and dependable.
Pakistani President, Asif Ali Zardari, has also showed interest in expanding trade relations between the two states. If the two countries expand trade with each other, they will be fostering greater and deeper bonds.
The two states stand as allies now, yet if they increase the stakes with deferred payments and increased trade they will be much more likely to always be allies. By deferring payments of loans and increasing trade, both states will have a great claim in the other’s stability and prosperity. They will be looking out for each other because the other holds important pieces of themselves. As the two states interactions increase, international peace becomes a little more accessible.
