Title
Negotiations of Peace for Middle East
Summary
Sheik Khaled al-Khalifa, the prime minister of Bahrain, has stated a desire for a Mid-East body to the United Nations. The organization would include states in the Middle East and North Africa, especially Arab states, Iran, and Israel. The main goal of the organization would be to work together to solve regional problems. It is also hoped that these diplomatic meetings will increase interest and aid from Western countries.
Analysis
Bahrain has proposed a political meeting place for Mid-Eastern and North African countries. The association would be a general gathering for the countries to discuss regional issues and possible solutions. Sheik Khaled al-Khalifa, prime minister of Bahrain, states that the only way to solve regional problems is for the countries to develop an overhead organization.
Bahrain’s prime minister has the vision that an institution above the states is needed to stop conflicts between the states. He wants to increase communication between the countries as to increase stability and peace. With the beginning of interactions between the countries, Sheik Khaled al-Khalifa believes that “all the ships will rise.” The countries will increase peace, as well as, increase economic interdependence.
The Mid-East body will be able to make influential decisions for the best interest of the states. For example, Bahrain calls for meeting without exclusion of others. In order for this committee to be formed, Israel will need to arrange peace deals with Palestinians and Syria. Therefore, it would be detrimental for Israel not to make peace if the Mid-East body formed. It would be a minority of countries left out of the rising ways of regional diplomacy.
A Mid-East institute for regional negotiations can only lead to greater prosperity and peace in the Middle East.
